CMA Songwriters Series 2017

Image
On Thursday 9th March at the Indigo2, 5 songwriters brought Nashville to the UK. Kristian Bush, Drake White, Maren Morris, Liz Rose and Mac MacAnally told us stories and sang us their best-known hits and some lesser-known songs to people in cowboy hats and boots, who had flocked to the sold-out venue to hear the raw talent of these songwriters away from the clean-cut performances of the bigger stages. These songwriters nights are a place where artists can jam together and tell the stories behind their hit songs and this one was spectacular.
Kristian Bush began with Sugarland's hit 'Stuck Like Glue' and continued with solo numbers like 'Flip Flops' and 'Love or Money'. His debut performance at C2C five years ago (he was the first act to ever play the festival) acted as the catalyst for his now hugely-successful solo career and he seemed truly humbled to be back and we're more than happy to have him!
Drake White was one of this year's break-out stars…

UK Country Music Week!

Image
Can I get another hallelujah?
So the same people who have been bringing us C2C are finally pulling together a whole week of country events across London from 2nd to 8th October 2017. This is such an exciting time for country music in the UK and this dedicated week will bring both UK and US artists to London to showcase their talents in a way not possible before.
It's so important to support upcoming artists and, while it's great that so many huge and established artists can have the stage at C2C, the smaller stages often lack opportunity with their limited capacities. This week in October, however, will allow more acts to have the spotlight and gain their well-deserved recognition in the close-knit UK County Music community.
Let me know who you'd love to see at the Country Music Week!

The Shires Win Their First CMA!

Image
The C2C Songwriters Series was full of surprises, none bigger than for The Shires who proved that we can build our own Nashville as they were presented with their very first CMA award for Global Artist of the Year by Kristian Bush (Sugarland). This is such an exciting achievement for the duo who just had both of their albums certified Gold last week. They really are paving the way for UK country artists - here's to more success in the future! Shay x

NEW UK Country Music Blog!

Image
Hey y'all,

I've decided to set up a blog dedicated to all things country for people like me in the UK who want nothing more than the bright lights of Nashville but are (for now) subjected to living in perpetual drizzle, surrounded by people who've never even heard of George Strait.

Feel free to send in suggestions for gigs, albums, artists etc. that I should be writing about to shaygaston21@gmail.com
